Bring The Pain, Already
J. Marshall
A Poem
All right, bring the pain
I don’t say that lightly
Nah, instead I say that with an openness and honesty that just wasn’t present before
Bring the pain, goddammit!
If I’m not ready by now than when will I ever be
How can I not be ready for pain if day-to-day is a freakin’ painfest because I don’t deal with the pain
A funny thing, right?
Dealing with more pain if you’re unwilling to deal with your immediate pain
Yeah, life works in an ironic kind of way
But bring it
Bring your worst
I’m here and I’m still young
So bring the pain so I can knock it out of the park
Bring the pain so I can knock it out of the neighborhood
Bring the pain so I can knock it out of the city, knock it out of the state
Bring the pain and I’ll knock it out of the fuckin’ Earth
Out our solar system
And the motherfuckin’ galaxy beyond
So for the last time, I say to life’s resistance
Bring the pain
Because I’ll be here
And if it ain’t been made clear let me make it clear now
I won’t be stopped
