Exquisitely written poem. The line that sticks out the most is 'our humanity is beauty's artifact', which I've highlighted. I might be taking this too deep, but I interpret that as meaning our humanity, which contains consciousness, perceives beauty, and because consciousness is ever-present, in one form or another, it is the artifact, because artifacts are old. In other words the artifact of humanity allows beauty to be perceived which is what makes it possible for beauty to exist in the first place. If I'm off, I apologize. There is much more to pull from this piece, including the vivid imagery and description of sound. Excellent work!
