Very good story. The cleverness in making the biggest rock fan an actual 'rock' fan can't be overstated. This story is funny. I laughed out loud a couple of times, once at the part where Dave gets irritated because the main character laughs when he makes what she perceives as a joke.

There's a central message to this story which I believe is true in my life and for all people. You really do get what you need, not what you want. And the main character, I believe, needed to understand that while actual rock music fans might be snooty and particular that type of personality is far better suited for her than an 'actual rock fan'. Taking it a little deeper, it really ties into how her more liberal and free personality is better served with the type of person that might be annoyingly particular about rock and roll or some other vibrant, exciting--keyword exciting--passion, but the trade off is that this person is interesting, youthful--if not in age in energy--and fun. At least in her eyes. Great work!
